More Than a Water Tower, Paris Cultural Debate Verein
The Parc de la Villette represents a complex context in the Parisian metropolis, where the infrastructures of people, plants and animals overlap with the grid of folies, axes and gardens designed by Bernard Tschumi, raising the question of what happens when these infrastructures come together and how their relationship will develop in the future. A long roof provides a covered plaza with spaces where people can meet, exchange, and discuss. There, workshops and cultural events convey the association’s thoughts. the roof, with two water towers, serves as a water filtration system that provides space for plants and small animals while also providing a clean water surface. The evaporation influences the climate and people have the opportunity to cool down in summer.
